Stay Contented

Focusing our minds on the things we do have,
will cause us to become more thankful.

Learning to be content
with what we do have
 is of great value.

Remembering it's what we have,
not what we want,
 is the key.

Hebrews 13:5 says:
Let your conversation be without covetousness;
and be content with such things
as ye have:
for he hath said,

"I will never leave thee,
nor forsake thee."

By being content,
 with ourselves and others,
God will always be with us.

Now isn't that rewarding?

Let's stay contented.

The Path Chosen For Us

Let us remember
that God has given us
and every one of us
gifts,
talents,
and a great depth of love,
favor,
 strength,
and the ability to do a work
that he has already called us to do.

By spending time each day doing good,
 visiting the sick,
 seeking Him
in everything we do.
Praying always for our families and friends.

We will be well able.

The devil would like us to think
 we can do all this work on our own;
tempting us so he can destroy the very foundations
of our faith in God.

Ephesians 6:10-18

Just like God provided this great work for us to do,
 we will,
in His strength
and time,
be able to accomplish the task
as we continue on the path he has chosen for us.

Homemade Valentine

I received the most beautiful
and as one of my friend's said, 'very pretty' Valentine's card
from my daughter, Ruth.

On this card was written -- 'The most beautiful paths are winding'.

This very week as I was cleaning up, I found a little Valentine's card as well, from my oldest granddaughter and that she had also made, signed by her mother, Charlotte.

What a great surprise both of these were!

Nothing like homemade!

This is Valentine's Day.

In the past, people believed that the mind should rule the heart.
But science has now discovered the opposite to be true.

'Who we are and who we become - depends in part, on whom we love.'

Deuteronomy 6:5 says:
You shall love the Lord, your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.

Not until the Gospels of Mark and Luke do we learn that Jesus added the word 'mind'.
(Mark 12:30 and Luke 10:27)

So scientists are just now discovering what the Word of God (the Bible) tought all along.

Saying I love you, is wonderful.
And we all appreciate these words.
But putting our hands, our minds, our souls and our hearts
to work;
we are truly saying ---
 I LOVE YOU.

And let's face it, that is homemade!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Think On These Things

It is our attitude at the beginning of a difficult undertaking
which more than anything else,
will determine its successful outcome."

- Quote from William James.

The apostle, Paul, wrote in Philippians 3:4-8:

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true,
whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just,
whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of a good report;
if there be any virture, and if there be any praise,
think on these things. Or meditate on these things.

Here we find that the quote from WIlliam James
and what the apostle Paul said,
quoting from the book of Philippians, Chapter three verses four to eight,
talking about a very difficult situation,
it truly is our attitude our mind set,
that will determine its successful outcome.

Dreams of 2015

We are nearing the end of
2014.

We wonder what the New Year will bring.

How about this one.

By Confucius, And I quote:

The more man meditates upon good thoughts,
the better will be his world,
and the world at large.

How true, don't you think?

Imagine all the grief we would spare if you and I did meditate on
good thoughts.

How about letting that
be number one
on our list.

Now, the rest is up to you.

Let's keep the dreams fresh
in our minds,
 and work at them,
 till they're accomplished.

For God has placed a dream in every heart;
yours included.

Keep remembering the one that meditates on good thoughts.

Have a great year, 2015!

Courage

"Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear- not absence of fear."
- Mark Twain
What a wonderful quote.

Jesus said in Luke's gospel; Chapter twelve and verse thirty two,

"Fear not little flock".

He didn't mean there wasn't any fear,
he meant take heart, or take courage.

Like he said in Deuteronomy Chapter thirty-one, verse six,

"Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor be afraid,"

and then saying,
"He will not fail thee or forsake thee".

Can you and I count on Him?

The answer is YES!
While things around us may not look good at the present,
let's do as Mark Twain said,
"Never be afraid, take courage".

Christmas Love

Who doesn’t love to think of Christmas?

The very thought brings a smile to most children’s faces.

Let’s think again of all Christmas really means. . .

 Joy, promise, peace, spirit,

and the spirit of Christmas is love.

Yes, love that brought our Savior, Lord Jesus Christ, as a wee boy born in Bethlehem,
to be our Savior. Taking upon himself all of our guilt, our condemnation, all our sins, and in turn he gave us of himself.

I do, and don’t you, love that exchange?

Let’s become more loving and kind;

giving out and receiving this year that love he so lovingly gave us.

Merry Christmas!

Have a very bright and shining New Year!
