The Straight and Narrow

I saw a frisky little squirrel,
running along a telephone cable in front of my home.
The thought struck me,
 that he would just have to keep going till he reached the next pole;
for there was very little room for him to turn around midway.

I was relieved when he made it.

And that reminds me of what Jesus said; that the way of life is the straight and narrow.

In Matthew 7:14 it says:
"Because straight is the gate and narrow is the way,
which leadeth unto life."

There is very little room to turn around on if we want to keep going.

As Paul said,
"that we press toward the mark for the prize
of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
 Philippians 3:14.

I'm Ready

"A man does not become a man until he has to. I'm ready."

That is how Jeff Reinebold, one-time head coach of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers summed up his qualifications for the position.

    Those are loaded words.

Put into a spiritual context, it is only when we truly experience Jesus Christ and receive Him into our hearts by faith, that we have the resources that make us ready for the task of living a victorious life.

In His strength we will always be ready to make a defense to any one who calls us to account for the hope that is in us, yet do it with gentleness and reverence and keep our conscience clear even when we are abused.

Prayer for Canada

Oh Canada,
My home and native land.
I pray that you would be strong, righteous and full of prosperity.
For as Israel is called to be a blessed nation,
You too have a calling that is a key for the nations.
Make your name righteous,
Hold onto the promises of God.
Be strong in belief,
Be an anchor for the oppressed.
Do not waiver from your roots,
Remember where you have come from,
Because that is only by God's grace.
Many see you rising up and taking the calling of God in your arms.
Take comfort in knowing you are a nation chosen by God.
God keep you glorious and free.

The Planting of the Lord

We are all seeds.
"We are the planting of the Lord."

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
John 12:24

You have to die to the flesh to bring forth the spiritual.

If you be dead to self and alive in the spirit you will bring forth of the spirit.

The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance.

We have to be "planted by the Lord" because it's His seed within us that grows.
Again, "We are the planting of the Lord."

When God goes to all the trouble of planting us we will not grow
unless we die to self.

Healing

Did you know that Jesus took a polio shot? He did. And a smallpox shot and a diphtheria shot and a tetanus shot. In fact, Jesus took all our infirmities on Himself so that He is immune to them.

"Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed."
                                                                                Isaiah 53:4-5

Jesus took all our sickness and infirmities so that He would be immune to them, so that He could fight them (it was like He took a polio shot!) and we can fight through Him (with His stripes we are healed).

If you ask Jesus to come into your heart, He is fighting for you because He is in you and His life and His resurrection power and His healing power is in you and flowing through your veins! You are inoculated through Him. Jesus even went down to death, Hell and the grave to get inoculated from that too!

"I am He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the Keys of Hell and of death."
                                                                                 Revelation 1:18

Not part, but all the sin of all humanity was inoculated into His body. So, now, Jesus can fight all germs, all diseases, all sicknesses, all sin; and even Hell and the grave. Jesus conquered everything when He rose from the grave.

All can come to Jesus now because of the above.

Heaven

A little girl walking with her father on a starry night,
Absorbed in contemplation of the skies,

On being asked what she was thinking, she replied,
"I was thinking that if this side of heaven is so glorious,
What must heaven actually be?"

Yes, heaven truly is far more glorious.

The Bible tells us in John 14:2:

In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you.

My father wrote a tract called "Heaven".
And in it he wrote:
"No thieves and no crying, no pain."

Think about it!
No death, streets of gold,
Pearly gates built and made by God.

He Cares

People don't care how much you know until,
They know how much you care.

The ability to care really comes from
Our creator,
 the Lord Jesus Christ.

Children will trust their parents and grandparents,
After they know how much they truly care for them.

No wonder the Apostle Peter,
Was able to pen the words in 1 Peter 5:7:

Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.

Let us never lose sight of the importance of caring.
For He truly cares for you and me.
Just read John 3:16 again.
